ABOUT THE BOOK
The book is titled Cahaya Takwa Menembus Kegelapan Maksiat. This book outlines the core point of piety as light-filled
obedience versus oneness as a pitch-filled obedience. In it is also explained
the meaning of piety and obedience, Piety is the light that guides everyone in
his life, walking the straight path (as-shirath
al-mustaqim) to
achieve infinite happiness (world and hereafter). Meanwhile, intoxication is
iniquity that leads to destruction and misery, and dumps the culprit into the
valley of inequality.
This book consists
of 12 parts containing the light of takwa, its understanding, urgency, the
nature of the devout, and the fruit of takwa. On the other hand, the book also
describes the darkness of the maksiat, its meaning, the cause‐cause; the
entrance of the disobedience, the cause; its types and varieties; and the
influence of disobedience on oneself and society. It also explained how to overcome disobedience
and treat the culprit. What is certain is that God loves the devout. They were
given an honorable special position in the world and the hereafter. Poured out
happiness and good luck in the world and the hereafter. God bestowed
instructions on them to obtain useful knowledge and charitable shaleh. All
their affairs are facilitated. God bestowed the light of knowledge and faith as
lanterns so that they could walk in the dark of ignorance and health.
Of the 12 parts,
there is one part that I like the most, namely part 7 which contains about the
door, I think this section is interesting because it explains what the door is,
well, from there I can tell it turns out that the disobedience could have come
from the Lust of rage, eyes, ears, oral, mouth, hands, feet, and many others.
“... Help one another in virtue and piety, and do not help one
another to sin and enmity. Be wary of Allah! Indeed, Allah is the most
tormentor." (Al-Maidah [5]; 2)
